My companion cartridge for the 20VT during a pd hunt last spring was my 6.5x55AI.

Re: 20VT Fan Club

No, it was a custom job done by Joel Russo out in PA. He used a B&C Tac/Varmint stock that I had for a pattern. Savage target action and Shilen 12 twist 26" barrel.

20VT Fan Club

After reading RIO's 20VT report maybe we need to start a seperate fan club on the 204 forum? I put this together last winter and shot it over the summer. As with Rick I am very happy with it. No, it doesn't launch the pd's at similar ranges like the 204R will however it is very accurate and does wel...

Re: Redding bushing help for VarTarg

Interesting to finally stumble on this thread. I am in the same place right now building a 20VT on the Savage RBLP target action. I had a difficult time deciding on dies to order and finally decided on the Redding bushing style neck die set. I ordered a prefit Shilen barrel so not exactly sure what ...

Re: .204 Barrel twist

4Jake, I took advice from Rick last spring and had a 1-11 Pac Nor installed on my Savage. The factory tube would key hole the 39 gr. BK's and I even picked a couple out of the 1/2" plywood backstop at 100yds and they were stuck in backwards! No kidding! The new Pac Nor is performing very well. ...

Re: Skippy Snipper re-barrel

Glenn, my plan was to take it with doggin and set up for long range. It is a 6x47 Lapua. Now after shooting it from the bench I am thinking of doing up a different stock I can drop it in to and carry at the dog towns. Maybe another A-5 style but with some different wood. Not sure I want to mess with...

Re: Skippy Snipper re-barrel

Glenn, yes Joel did say he had to go slow when shaping/inletting it. There was enough blank left for a second stock so he sent it back to me and I modified it a bit and ended up with this.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Toobuilder/IMG_1364.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/Toobui...

Re: Skippy Snipper re-barrel

Thanks guys. The stock is an A-5 style. I really like how it feels as I usually shoot with a bi-pod laying down. Silverfox, it was ordered as a Savage varmint contour but I did end up having to open up the barrel channel a bit. Seems it didn't start to taper untill about three inches from receiver. ...

Skippy Snipper re-barrel

Hello, I don't post much but come here often for info on the 204R. This past spring with advice from Rick I had a Pac Nor super match barrel ordered for my Savage. I just got it back from the gunsmith the other day. I have not shot it yet as the wind has been crazy the last few days but thought I wo...

trevort, I looked on the Sinclair site and don't see that it lists a .20 cal. flash hole deburring tool. Maybe they have one now and have not updated the site or I didn't look in the right spot. I think I may end up going with the K&M tools though. Just finished putting together an order of all ...

20 cal. case prep tools

Been browsing a couple of weeks, great forum BTW. Only been loading for a couple of years and find the more I read the more I don't know and have to learn. I have a new Savage FV-S in 204 I will be loading for. What brand of flash hole deburring tool do you guys use? I have not purchased one yet (be...
