Best powder I have tried on my .204s

I use Benchmark with both 32gr & 39gr bullets. Excellent powder for the rifle, IMO.

Re: Glass Reloading Bench

I wouldn't be as worried about dropping a die or something else as I would be afraid of the press breaking the glass. There is a BUNCH of pressure on the surface when you are using the press. The wood won't stop that from happening. That would be my main concern. I have to agree with your concept. I...

Re: ?? about what to match with 39gr BK

Well, I guess my Rugers just want to be different. :duh:

I've tried everything out there and both of mine shoot better with Benchmark when loading 39 SBKs.

Re: 204 vs cougar

Not to rain on anyones parade... I have not seen a 204 Ruger in a 1:14, most 308's I've dealt with (factory rifles) are/were 1:10. I have seen 220 Swifts and 22-250's with factory 1:14 barrels. WW I stand corrected. I was looking at Lilja's specs. But the fact remains (and was my inten...

Re: 204 vs cougar

Has anyone here seen results of the 204 on cougar. Its seems to have alot of energy even enough at 2oo yards.Id only take an ideal shot meaning broadside and most shots here would be under 100 yards.I watched my dad kill one years ago with his 221fireball at about 80 yards.Surely the 204 has more en...

I don't know guys, my XR-100 is a real shooter. I haven't done anything to it since I bought it. I've had pretty good luck with Remingtons for a long time. From everything I've heard over the last year I will have to admit that I would probably consider a Savage. Skipper, that rifle is a WHOLE diff...

Remington knows about the rifle. According to them, this model rifle is shooting what they refer to as "acceptable". In other words...1.5" groups are "acceptable" to them.

Makes you wonder if they have any varmint shooters that work there, huh?

Fellas... What do ya'll think about the new Ruger Hawkeyes? The new Hawkeye is basically the old M77 MKII with a better trigger. These rifles are VERY adequate for a hunting rifle. However...don't expect 1/2" groups from the skinny barrel. More like 1"-1.5" is about the norm for the ...

Remmy SPS all over the paper

I bought a new 700 SPS (not the varmint model) for my son to take on a PDog hunt this summer. To be polite...this thing is NOT what I expected. The smallest group it is capable of is 1.5". Most of the time it is more like 2.5" or worse. Not what I would consider anywhere NEAR an adequate s...

I have heard that there is something in the soil in some areas that interferes with the operation of the remote. Silverfox, you're a smart guy. I have read a lot of your posts. But whoever told you that is NOT a smart guy. The remotes are radio signals. They travel through the air. The only ...

I had a Mueller Eradicator 4-16 on a Ruger #1 that lost a seal and had to be sent back. They replaced it promptly, with no hassle. I have had TWO Mueller 3-9's that failed to hold zero on .17HMR rifles. All three of these in the past 6 months. While Mueller has given me commendable customer service ...
