Re: If you had $1000 at cabelas...
I myself would buy either a Cooper .17 Fireball or a Nightforce. But those switch power Leupolds look extremely handy and might tempting
Good luck.

Re: Great Rockchuck Shoot!
Haha, thanks guys. I remember when we used to have a real hard time at 300 yards, and that was an awesome shot, although it still is a good shot. That was just 5 years ago. Ray: We don't shoot the match hollow point bullets very much because most of the shooting we do is on live targets at long dist...

Great Rockchuck Shoot!
We went out last Saturday afternoon to get some chuck shooting in as the weather finally broke. Dad posted a story on a forum so I figured I would copy and paste it here. I normally have a hard time setting down and typing up a story and downloading pics of varmint hunts. It's not that I don't reall...

Re: Happy Birthday Verminator2
It was a good birthday. We went out and skipped school for a day to do some chuck shooting. Upped the tally another 16 chucks(just me, dad had another 16) with the farthest shot being 562, first shot. Here are some pictures I took. 302 yards http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q85/tt35/rockchucks.jpg...

Re: Happy Birthday Verminator2
Hahaha Thanks Gary. No new Coopers
But it did get a new Jewel trigger for the .243 AI. MAN that thing is SWEEET. I also got a sear and hammer kit for the 10/22 which made the trigger pretty good for a 10/22. Can't compare it to the Jewel though
I guess it's more of a pearl ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: First Chuck of the Season and Entered the Club
Thanks everybody. Good luck with your Hart .243 AI Joe. This prompted my dad to sell a scope and get a Kreiger .243 AI barrel for his 22-250  We shot it las night and were getting 5 shots into about an inch with a 15-20 mph cross wind. The remarkable thing was that in each group we had 3 shots ...

Re: 204 vs 270 vs 308 vs half inch steel plate at 350 yds
I think velocity is way more important than caliber when trying to punch through steel. Caliber and bullet constrution has something to do with it, but velocity is the biggest danger to steel. Congrats on converting more people to the .204 though ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Tax Day Rock Chucks
That looks like fun Rick! Today was nice, temps in the mid 60s, 7-10 mph breeze up until 2:00 P.M. We took advantage and went looking for some chucks. I got one at 620 on the second shot, and we both got one at 380. Mine was big for not being on an alfalfa field, right at 10 lbs. Anyways, hopefully ...

I can see most of my hits with my .243 AI off of a bipod doing this. Also, make sure you have your natural point of aim set, or else that wont work as well.

Re: .204 Ruger vs. .17 Fireball
I'm thinking I'm going to try the .17 Fireball. I really like the idea of zero recoil,17gr. of powder, and 20 grain bullets zipping along at 4000. Hope that doesn't mean I'm banned   I'll end up with another .204 barrel for it probably. I might try a barrel nut or something on this and h...

.204 Ruger vs. .17 Fireball
I hate to admit it, but right now I don't have a .204  I sold my DPMS a while ago to fund a .280 AI, I needed a big game rifle. Now I'm starting to miss the small calibers for squirrels and such. So I've been searching for some sort of a squirrel rifle and was wondering what you all thought abo...

I also prefer the launch. Much more entertaining. And for your enjoyment, this squirrel got a dose of 39 SBK. Look in the upper right.

First Chuck of the Season and Entered the Club
Got my first chuck of the season last Friday, 3/26/10. (Yes i know it's too early to do any real chuck shooting) Spring Break finally arrived at our school, so Tuesday I went over to my cousin's (Gus) house to try to get some squirrel shooting in, and maybe try to get the first rockchuck of the 2010...
