Re: Ben's First 'Cat...then another...and another...and.... PA

Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words. I've alsways been pretty bored with bobcat calling. Takes too long and they don't come in like coyotes. They stalk in rather than running in. But, this day made it worthwhile. :) Ben caught up with my lifetime number of 'cats in one day! We just don't...

Re: Ben's First 'Cat...then another...and another...and.... PA

Part 2. We dropped one of the cats off at Ben's cousin's place to skin for tanning and headed to another stand. Maybe 20 minutes in, I gave up on a coyote coming and started glassing the rim. A few minutes later I spot another 'cat! It was peaking over a rock from the middle of the rim at 230 yards....

Ben's First 'Cat...then another...and another...and.... PA

Ben (AKA Verminator2) has called in bobcat for several people over the years but had never connected on one himself--at least before yesterday. We were actually hunting a ranch that had asked us to do some coyote control. Here's the country. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q85/tt35/Bobcats003.jpg...

Sounds like the population is healthy anyway! Congrats on the coyote. They all grow up. Might as well get 'em while they're young. :)

Re: Memorial Weekend Chucks

Yup, a good rockchcuck shoot is hard to beat! Congrats. We spent a couple of days this week going long range again but the results were less than impressive. A buddy came with his BAT action .284. I may have clipped a toe at around 1500 but no confirmed kill. Had a good time slingin' lead tho...

Re: Great Rockchuck Shoot!

Rick: That rockchuck is a pig! I killed one that I called "Chuckzilla" a few years ago. He was as long as the stock on my Cooper .204 but all I could get him to weigh was 11 1/2 pounds! I think maybe V2 drank a couple of sodas before he got back on with the rockchuck! :chin: Just kidding! ...

Re: 204 vs 22-250

So....I used to own four .22-250's. I now own five .204's and the last .22-250 just came back reincarnated as a .243AI. You might say I'm sold on the .204. I purchased my first so I could call my own shots then I found the 35 grain Berger for coyotes and I haven't looked back. That said, I agree wit...
