Re: Alturas Belden's squirrel trip- first timer

Sounds like a great trip! You'll be hooked now. Make sure you don't mistake the RimRock in Alturas for the one just north in Lakeview. You will be sorely disappointed! :o Glad you had a good trip. Once you've experienced some good 'rat shooting, you'll have to go back.

Re: Bergers vs. SBK for yotes?

The 35 gr. FBHP Bergers worked fantastic for me on coyotes. Very accurate and usually no exits on coyotes. The 39 gr. Sierra BlitzKings do have the Bergers beat on the BC number, but if you are a coyote caller, you should be able to get those coyotes close enough so you won't have to worry about th...

Re: 1264 Yard Rockchuck

Yeah, Rick, Ben's hot on his trail. We went out yesterday morning and he drew blood at 1313. Blood but no corpse. No Body, no Count... :) It might do him some good to have to pursue this for a while, though. :D

The Richardson's Ground Squirrels in Chrstmas Valley are a different beast than our Belding's GS's. They come up later and go down later. Keep us posted Mazalan and good luck. 1264 Yard Rockchuck

Hope not to bore you guys with my tales but this one deserves telling.... My nephew, Gus, took a rockchuck at 1264 yards. Here's the hero shot. (Red arrow shows the location of the rockchuck.) http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q85/tt35/GusChuck14.jpg And, now the story. It's getting close to the ti...

Sounds like an awesome time, Lenard! Love my 'chuck hunting! I use a .204 and a .243AI. Both are fantastic in their given ranges.

Skippy goes Main Stream!

No Off Season just finished filming a sage rat hunt with Scott Haugan for an upcoming episode of his show, Game Chasers, on the Outdoor Network. Scott and Tiffany Haugan with their two sons, Braxton (9) and Kazden (7), and their cameraman, Travis Ralls, came to southeast Oregon this week to film the...

Gotta love it when you are asked to shoot the rockchucks! I'm sure the hay is growing today but it's still quite a ways behind. We'll get a few extra days of shooting this year anyway!

Pretty funny!

Saw a second post by the same person on another forum asking if the .204 Ruger cartridge is "dying". I don't think he could find a single person to support the idea and certainly not me! http://www.predatormastersforums.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1912096&nt=2&...
